Can I sleep in my bed after fumigation?

How do I know if I have termites?

Can termites get into furniture?

Drywood termites can, and they do not need the piece to be touching anything. If we find galleries in a movable piece, we treat it directly rather than tenting around it.

Do newer homes get termites?

Yes, and more often than owners expect. A pre-construction soil barrier provides protection with a shelf life, not a permanent seal, and landscaping, irrigation, and additions installed afterward routinely cut through it. Concrete block construction does not change the answer either, because roof trusses, fascia, frames, and cabinetry are still wood.
